La foresta di Gutierrez ha un totale di 36.000 m², al riparo di un'area di conservazione permanente con 18.000 m² e una piazza di 6590 m². Ma ciò che attira l'attenzione in the Woods è il memoriale per l'ambientalista Chico Mendes, ucciso nel dicembre 1988. Ricordando la loro lotta per preservare la foresta amazzonica, è stato registrato in replica pietra della lettera che egli ha inviato ai Xapuri Giudice in Acre denunciando che era minacciato di morte. Tale carta è permanentemente avvolta da una cortina di acqua minerale, che nasce nella foresta.
