The Historical and Military Museum of Chile (MHM) is located inside the Alcázar building, declared Historical Monument in 1990 in recognition of its long years of architectural contribution to the national patrimony. It was built at the end of the 19th century, in 1887, by the architect Henry Víctor Villeneuve.
The MHM presents a chronological exposition of the History of Chile with unique resources in interactivity. The museum has 20 rooms ranging from the pre-Hispanic period to the year 1960, passing through the Conquest, Independence, War of the Pacific, World Wars, among other landmarks.
Patrimonial objects are mixed with the modern, through multiple special effects like games of lights, sensors, sounds and smoke. Through these resources, a playful experience is created that intertwines the educational and interactive through cutting-edge multimedia technologies.
