Famous for its thermo-medicinal waters, known since pre-Inca times, but it is thanks to the visit of the great researcher Antonio Raimondi, who becomes known in the country and begins to be frequented by national tourists and from other latitudes of the world, looking in its waters for relief for their ills and why not say it to spend a relaxed weekend, surrounded by pure air and nature. The thermal waters have temperatures that range between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius, it is considered that they have beneficial properties for patients with asthma, diabetes and chronic inflammatory processes such as arthritis.



It is the capital of the district of Pachangará, belonging to the province of Oyón in the department of Lima at 2,265 meters above sea level and 207 km northeast of the city of Lima, about six and a half hours away, via detour to Sayán. From there, along a poorly preserved affirmed road to Churín. This route is not very good, but it is passable by 4 × 4 vehicles and passenger buses.



There are three thermal water complexes: Meseta and Juventud, which are indoor complexes, and Mamahuarmi, which is outdoors and presents splendid landscapes and where little pools and water walks have been implemented. Churín is a small town sandwiched between hills and vegetation, it has a small main square and taking into account that it is a tourist place, there are a great variety of hotels and lodgings in every corner of the town, its accommodations offer an excellent infrastructure and prices are within reach of any pocket.
