Het is het populairste strand in Valparaiso. Het is vernoemd naar de torpedoboten die daar in 1887 bleven, waarvan er twee tot 1895 in actieve baai waren afgemeerd in de baai van Valparaiso.
Bordemar Poniente. Altamirano Avenue, naast de vuurtoren van Punta Angeles.
Het is altijd een favoriete recreatieplek geweest voor inwoners van Playa Ancha, die naar de kust komen om te genieten van de zon en de zee. Het is gebruikelijk om hele gezinnen rond een geïmproviseerde tafel te zien, genieten van echte thuis kookpartijen.
