Tobatí is a town in the Cordillera department, located 63 km from the capital, Asunción. Tobatí, city of Amor, named after its inhabitants, 17 km from the departmental capital of the Cordillera, Caacupé, along Route II.



It has several rural neighborhoods called by locals, such as the dances, among the most important are July 21, Ensenada, Santa Rosa, Aparypy (birthplace of independence hero Pedro Juan Caballero), Villa de Mercedes, Costa Alegre, Loma Verde, Mombox and Costa Alegre.



The religiosity of this city is great and curious, because they venerate the Immaculate Conception of Tobati, which according to the chronicles is the first and original Immaculate Conception.

Some remains of the Colonial Church

The third Shrine, opened approximately in 1750, is of Baroque style. Unfortunately, it was demolished in 1937 to give rise to the present church.
